Located in the South Zone and part of the Santo Amaro subprefecture, the Interlagos district is famous for the José Carlos Pace Racetrack, inaugurated in 1940 and home of the Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix. Beyond motorsport, the racetrack hosts large-scale concerts and festivals, making the area one of the city’s main entertainment destinations on event days. The district also borders part of the Guarapiranga Reservoir, an important water source for the metropolitan region.
