History

Founded as a partnership between bartender/consultant Márcio Silva and Marcello Nazareth, Guilhotina Bar has been a staple of the Pinheiros neighborhood for a decade. The establishment gained global acclaim in 2019 when it was ranked as the 15th best bar in the world by The World’s 50 Best Bars. Visitors frequently praise the extensive menu, which features approximately 20 signature original cocktails, though some reviews note varying opinions regarding the price-to-value ratio of the drinks.

Atmosphere

The venue offers a low-light, club-like atmosphere characterized by a stylish and high-energy vibe. The interior design features exposed brickwork, high ceilings, a backlit bar, and tweed stools surrounded by tropical plants, creating a sense of mystery. The musical programming consists of live DJ sets.

Getting there

By metro

Faria Lima and Fradique Coutinho stations, both on Line 4-Yellow (Linha 4-Amarela), are a few minutes' walk from the bar in Baixo Pinheiros — the easiest way to arrive by public transport.

By bus

Bus lines 6232-10 (toward Metrô Barra Funda) and 058 (Pinheiros–Osasco) run through the area and stop near Rua Costa Carvalho.

Getting back late at night

Since Guilhotina stays open into the early hours, a ride-hailing app or taxi is the most practical and safe way back at that time.
