Located between the Consolação and Bela Vista districts, the Baixo Augusta area encompasses the stretch bounded by Paulista Avenue, Rua da Consolação, and Rua 9 de Julho. The neighborhood is characterized by a vibrant nightlife and heavy pedestrian traffic, reaching its peak during Carnival, particularly during the parades of the Acadêmicos do Baixo Augusta (a local street carnival group or bloco). The area is easily accessible via the Consolação Metro Station (Green Line 2) or the Santa Cecília Metro Station (Yellow Line 4), as well as several bus lines, such as the 107T-10 and 908T-10.

Getting Around

The area is primarily accessible via the Metro (subway) through Line 2-Green or Line 4-Yellow, using the Consolação or Santa Cecília stations. From these stations, it is only a few minutes’ walk to reach Rua Augusta, one of the city’s most famous streets for nightlife and shopping. Public transit is also well-served by several bus lines, including routes 107T-10, 427, 7181-10, 7245-10, 908T-10, and 930P-10. Local movement is concentrated between the major thoroughfares of Avenida Paulista (the city’s main financial and cultural hub), Rua da Consolação, and Rua 9 de Julho. Walking is the most common way to move between local points of interest and the transit stations.

By metro

Utilize a Linha 2-Verde (Estação Consolação) or Linha 4-Amarela (Estação Santa Cecília). The Consolação station is located at the intersection of Rua da Consolação and Av. Paulista, just a 2 to 3-minute walk from Rua Augusta.

By bus

As linhas 107T-10, 427, 7181-10, 7245-10, 908T-10 e 930P-10 atendem a região.
